Salvation Donation - November 2011
In November a member of the Chico Outsiders made a large donation to our non-profit. The donor wished to remain anonymous and asked that the Outsiders use the funds to support the needy this holiday season. To honor that request President Todd Cathers made a $2,000 donation to the Salvation Army. The donation will provide as many as 450 Thanksgiving meals to Chico residents in need. This is a testiment to the great community members that make up the Chico Outsiders. (Image: Captain Darren Stratton receiving the donation from President Todd Cathers)

Peregrine Point selected as Best In Chico - Editor's pick at the Chico News and Review

Best place to fling it
Peregrine Point disc-golf course

When it comes to Butte County’s disc-golf venues, there’s no doubt that Peregrine Point reigns supreme. This 18-hole course offers play for advanced players, but beginners shouldn’t be discouraged. So, while many disc-golf enthusiasts take their games as serious business, it’s OK to head up Highway 32 and leisurely enjoy the course. (Just don’t hold up others who are trying to enjoy it, too.) After all, this oak-studded hillside set within Bidwell Park offers some spectacular views of the canyon. Hats off to the members of the nonprofit Chico Outsiders recreation group for their dedicated work to keep the sport in this region of the park, and also for their ongoing efforts to maintain and preserve the site.

King Of The Hill - Bag Tag Finale

Saturday 10-29-11 ended the official Peregrine Point bag tag race. Bag tags are sold in march of each year (and distributed to members). The tags are sequentially numbered and hang off you disc golf bag. When you play other people at Peregrine Point the winner of the round takes the lowest tag number.

The person with the lowest tag at the end of the season is crowned King of the Hill. Greg Gibson won this year's bag tag by shooting 6 under par at the finale. Be sure to take part in next year's race by purching the 2012 tag starting in March.
