| Why Join The Outsiders? |
| The Outsiders are organizing to
build, maintain, and manage a disc golf course off of highway 32 in Bidwell
Park. We're looking for members to join the Outsiders and help make this
happen. We also need people with construction and
professional skills that can donate time, materials, and/or equipment
to this effort. The Outsiders have also been advocating and promoting outdoor recreation in Chico and surrounding communities, and this effort needs your support. Please join the cause to keep the public in our public park system by becoming an Outsider. Print, fill out, and submit the form below. | The Outsiders provide a continuous series fun
activities for people that want to be invovled. Some of the activities
involve community services, others promote recreation, and still others
are simply a chance to get out and do something fun together. The activities include - Leading the night hike to the Kiwanis Chico Community Observatory during CARD's Community Campout The Summer Solstice Slam traveling disc golf tournament Upkeep and star thistle removal at Sherwood Forest Disc Golf course Disc golf games at private courses Camping/backpacking disc golf safari trips Taking part in community events like Pastels in the Plaza |
| The Chico Outsiders support
appropriate environmental stewardship of our park system and continued
public access to a variety of outdoor activities. Our efforts to remove
invasive plant species and our support for recreation infrastructure
promote the health of our park's ecosystem. Keeping people in our parks,
socializing, and taking part in healthy activity contribute to Chico's
high quality of life. Here are some of the activities the Chico Outsiders are involved in. |

Bank Community Foundation, Chico Area recreation and Parks District,
and Rotary, the Outsiders built the Sherwood Forest disc golf course.

Organizing artistic endeavors
helps to integrate recreation with the broader community. The Outsiders

Events like the Summer Solstice
Slam are available to members of the Chico Outsiders who contribute
greatly to our efforts throughout the year. This year the Summer Solstice
Slam 2009 and the Safari Golf backpacking trip are being planned.
